GeoAnime Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• If you play without logging in: the ID of an invisible temporary account tied to this browser (Supabase anonymous sign-in), your game records (where and when you answered, and your scores), and the content of any question reports you send.
• If you log in with Google: in addition, your Google account email address, name, profile picture URL and Google account ID, and the name (nickname) you choose for the ranking.
• Access logs: to run the service, our servers (Supabase, Cloudflare) record information such as your IP address and browser type.
• Browser storage (localStorage): your login session, your “confirm before answering” setting and your chosen language.
• Clan Battle: the squares you place on the canvas (position, color and time), the group you belong to (group name, color and members), and what you write in your group’s chat.
• If you sign up for GeoAnime Pro: you pay on Stripe’s page, and your card number never reaches the operator. From Stripe we receive your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, plan, period, payment status and the email address used for payment, and record them with your account.
• Advertising: when the game shows ads, the ad company (Google) receives information from your browser using cookies and similar technologies (see “6. Advertising and cookies”).

2. How we use it

• To provide the game (scoring, records, streaks, the ranking, and the Clan Battle canvas, groups and chat).
• To carry your records over to other devices.
• To fix mistakes in questions and improve the game (question reports).
• To prevent abuse.
• To provide the paid service (GeoAnime Pro) and collect its fees.
• To show ads that help pay for running the game (when ads are shown).
• To answer your inquiries.

3. What other people can see

The ranking shows only your nickname, score and time. Your email address and your Google name and picture are never shown to others.

Colors you place on the Clan Battle canvas are visible to everyone (who placed them is not shown). Group names, colors and square counts appear in the group ranking. Members of your group can see your nickname and what you write in the chat. Finished canvases and their rankings are kept as a public record.

4. Services we use

We rely on the following services to store and process data. Data may be processed on servers outside Japan.

• Supabase (database and login; data is stored on servers in Tokyo)
• Google (login with a Google account)
• Cloudflare (delivering the website and counting visits; no cookies are used for counting)
• OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap (maps; your IP address and similar information are sent when map images load)
• Stripe (payments for GeoAnime Pro; your card details are handled by Stripe and never reach the operator)
• Google AdSense (advertising; when ads are shown)
• Discord (so that the operator can review question reports; the report contents — which question, the reason you chose, your comment, and your distance and time — are sent to a place only the operator can see)

5. Sharing with others

Except where required by law, we do not give your information to anyone else without your consent. We also do not give the information we collect (such as your records or email address) to ad companies for advertising.

However, we may pass the necessary information to the services in section 4 so that they can process it. When you pay for GeoAnime Pro, we pass your account ID and email address to Stripe.

6. Advertising and cookies

The game may show ads served by Google (Google AdSense).

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads ). You can also turn off other vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/ .

If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent screen lets you choose whether to receive personalized ads.

When ads are shown, your browser sends the following information to Google:

• Recipient: Google LLC
• Information: cookies and advertising identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, the URL of the page you are viewing, and records of ads viewed and clicked
• Purposes: serving ads, limiting how often the same ad is shown, preventing fraudulent clicks, and measuring ad performance
• How Google uses this information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

7. Deleting your data

If you are logged in with Google, “Menu” → “Delete account” on the start screen erases your information, including your records, nickname and chat messages. Colors you placed on the Clan Battle canvas remain as colors without an owner.

If you are not logged in, your records can no longer be used once you clear this browser’s data. Temporary accounts that have not been used for a long time may be deleted.

If you have a GeoAnime Pro subscription, deleting your account stops auto-renewal. Payment records remain with Stripe as required by law and Stripe’s rules.
